“First I went to Raffles Grand Hotel and they recommended me to go to Paul Dubrule. Then I tried to apply a first time but it was to late for the admission test so I waited one year and worked a few more months at the Raffles. I remember the next time I came to visit, it had rained so much that the entire school had been flooded.

I met Pete, my English teacher, who advised me to choose either tourism or hospitality because let would allow me to practice my communication skills more than the other specialties. He also helped me a lot with my pronunciation and he never let me down. I really love the atmosphere of the school. The teachers are very nice and I met a lot of friends here.

In most universities, there is not a lot of training so when the students finish school they have a hard time finding a job. On the contrary Paul Dubrule allows us to put the theory into practice every day so we are ready for the professional life. I think I couldn’t find a better school in Cambodia.

After school, I will work at the reservation department of the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh. I will start there in September.”

”I have heard about the school five years ago but at this time, I couldn’t study because I had to help my mother at the family bakery shop in my home town in Kompongtom. Last year my brother graduated from university so this year I am here ! Before entering the school I worked with my mom and dad at the family business. I knew already about bakery but at school I realised that there are a lot of things that I had never seen before! For example, I learned how to do European cakes, which are different from the Asian ones. More, I learnt how to make ice cream and cookies. While I’m here I can prepare croissants that I send to my mum every morning by bus. It’s about two and a half hours far away from here.

My first internship was at the Sokah Hotel and the second one was at Le Méridien. I had a great experience there and learnt how to make bavarois. I got on very well with my chef who came to visit my family business already a few times.

After I graduate, I will go back to my mum’s bakery shop and bring everything that I’ve learnt to improve it !”

“I just graduated from high school when I entered the Ecole d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule. I wanted to study in this school because it’s much easier to find a job later if you have a good education.

After school I would like to go to the university in Siem Reap and study international relation. I will be able to have a good job beside my studies and it will help me to finance them. I want to work in a hotel later and I like to meet people from all over the world : Korean, Japanese, Spanish...

The more experience I have, the best I will be able to help them in their requests.

I had the chance to do two internships this year :

One at Le Prince d’Ankor Hotel, where I experienced the position of room attendant, laundry and public area.

The second one was at the Sokah Hotel. I was a trainee at the front office. It was a great experience, my managers were very nice.”
